Supporting parents with Youth Impact Development Association

Round One : We held a training session for the parents of the Youth Impact Development Association. The session covered several important topics to support their work with young people. First, we helped the parents gain deeper insights into understanding youth - their unique developmental needs, perspectives, and challenges. We then explored effective, compassionate approaches to setting boundaries, using discipline constructively, and avoiding overly punitive measures. The parents also learned practical conflict resolution strategies for navigating disagreements with their children in a healthy way. Lastly, the session assisted the parents in articulating a clear, values-driven vision for supporting the growth and success of the youth they work with. The feedback was very positive - the parents found the interactive format highly practical and informative, equipping them with valuable tools to better understand and empower the young people in their community.
